Who are we…
-
Mission...
We seek to establish a reputation as a café offering amazing sourdough-based baked goods and the best of coffee and tea drinks in the region.
We offer a wide selection of books in english and specialize in literature from the wisdom traditions that can't be found anywhere else!
We aspire to fulfill essential community needs, such as hosting events, courses, community markets and promoting tourism in Farsund.
Kjærlighet is a haven for visitors who have come to Lister to experience nature, finding an unexpected «treasure» in a beautiful small town by the sea.
-
Vision...
We hope to create a book café with a pleasant atmosphere capturing the original feeling of the house (built in 1902) bringing it together with our present time.
We think of it as a place where the vertical and the horizontal meet - a place for a warm cup of coffee or cool cup of bubble tea to quench the thirst, a fresh home-baked treat to satisfy the belly, and a good book to stimulate the mind.
In addition to the book café, we intend to create a rose garden courtyard that will be open to the community. A small oasis with a fountain, for silence and reflection. When the iron gate is open, the rose garden is open to everyone - with or without a cafe purchase.
-
Values...
Kjærlighet aims to embody values that foster inclusivity and community spirit in Farsund. We are dedicated to creating a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels at home, transcending boundaries of age, gender, origin, and belief.
As a neighborhood café, our space is designed to be a sanctuary for both residents and visitors, encouraging connection and conversation in harmony with the stunning coastal surroundings.
By embracing the unique beauty of Farsund, we aspire to be a beacon, or "lighthouse," for all those seeking companionship and comfort, celebrating the rich tapestry of lives that come together in our café.
Meet the Team
We are a Norwegian/American couple making a home in Farsund with our children. We shared a dream of creating a multicultural meeting place where anyone can meet for a cup of coffee, find a great book or an unexpected conversation.
